Urban Tails - Where Happy Pets Shop! is a locally owned and operated retail pet store and grooming salon, committed to delivering exceptional customer service to our community and expert advice to pet owners. We focus on community outreach and providing the best quality for the best price.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and task-oriented cashier candidates to support customers and inventory flow in our store. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, possess excellent customer service skills and have the experience and have media creation knowledge. You will work as part of team to ensure the day-to-day operations of the store are running smoothly, provide expert guidance to our customers, handle cash flow, and receive shipment orders.

Duties to include:

​

- Provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable advice and assistant to customers which will exceed their expectations.

​

- Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across all pet categories.

​

- Answering phone calls and booking grooming appointments.

​

- Assist in receiving and stocking order.

​

- Ensure the store is well-organized, stocked, clean and visually appealing to customers.

​

- Promote the store and salon through our social media platforms.

​

- Working adoption and company events on weekdays and weekends

​

- Working as a team to ensure a positive environment

​

-Handling cash and the POS system.

​

Qualifications:

​

- Ideally, previous experience in a retail environment.

​

- Flexible working hours.

​

- Strong knowledge of pet care, products, and breeds would be an asset.

​

- Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and increase sales.

​

- Must be outgoing, high-energy and customer focused.

​

-Proficient with computers including the use of social media and POS systems.

​

-Ability to lift 50lbs comfortably and handle continuous, repetitive lifting.

​

-Commitment to complete Retail Pet, an online learning program, within the first 3 months of employment.

​

-Flexible, open availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
